Terms of sale

These are the terms you buy under. They describe what you are buying, when it ships, and what happens if something goes wrong.

What you are buying

Each letter of your word arrives as its own separate 4 × 6 inch black-and-white photographic print. A five-letter word is five prints, not one. They are shipped loose in protective packaging, unframed and unmounted.

Every print is a photograph of a real found object. Photographs are never cropped, filtered or altered — what you choose on screen is what is printed. Because they are photographs of found forms, no two letters look alike, and the same letter ordered twice may be a different photograph unless you chose it by hand.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is calculated at checkout by Stripe against your delivery address, and shown before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details.

Your order is confirmed when the payment completes, not when you leave the payment page. If a payment fails, nothing is charged and your basket is left exactly as it was.

Delivery

We ship within the United States only, by USPS. The delivery date shown at checkout is an estimate based on the service you choose and where it is going; it is not a guarantee, and carriers are occasionally late for reasons outside anyone's control.

If the address you give is wrong and the parcel comes back to us, we can post it again, but the postage is charged again.

If something is wrong

We stand behind every print. If a print arrives damaged, isn't what you ordered, or never arrives at all, write to [email protected] within 30 days of delivery with a photo of the damage, and we'll send you a replacement.

We don't offer returns or exchanges for a change of mind. If something on our end went wrong, though, we'll make it right.

Your use of the site

The photographs are ours, and buying a print does not transfer any rights in the image. You may not copy, reproduce or resell the photographs themselves. The print is yours to keep, display, frame and give away.

Limits

Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Beyond that, and except where we have been negligent, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California.

Changes

We may change these terms. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you placed it, not the ones published later.
