Compose a word

Every letter is a photograph of a real found form. You receive each one as a separate 4 × 6 black-and-white print.

Your word Type the word you want. You get one photograph for every letter in it — BETTY is five separate photographs, not one picture of the word. Letters A to Z only, up to 12 of them; spaces, numbers and punctuation are refused as you type. The price follows the letter count at $6.00 each, so adding a letter adds $6.00. Repeating a letter is fine — BETTY has two Ts, and each one is picked separately, so the two prints are usually different photographs.

Builds the word. For each letter it picks one photograph of that letter from the catalogue and shows you the result below. It replaces whatever is already showing below, so composing a second word discards the preview of the first. Nothing is added to your basket until you press Add to basket, so a discarded preview costs nothing.

Counts the letters you have typed against the 12-letter limit. Twelve is the most the shop will make in one word. This is also the print count and the price: 12 letters means 12 photographs and $60.00 before postage and tax.
